Kathleen Flaherty resides  in Millis, Massachusetts with her husband, their four children and two dogs. She is a graduate from Johnson & Wales University and has worked with children for over 20 years. She grew up spending her summers on Hog Island, RI and now continues that tradition with her family where she enjoys boating, gardening, swimming, reading, writing and cooking. She uses the Island as a classroom to teach her children to be as one with nature. Kathleen has written several children's stories and for the past four years, she has been working side by side with creative illustrator, Jennifer Donehey and together they created, "An Octopus Named Mom."
